Year 12 Homeworks and Comments

Hello all,

Just a quick update.
1) - well done on completing the first Controlled Assessment so well.
2) Your next one is to complete a piece of descriptive writing, as if you were a character in a scene from a film. This will take place in your double lesson on WEDS. However - there may be a problem with the school being shut for strike action - this hasn't been decided yet - if the school is shut, we'lkl just have to do it in the next lesson.

So - you need to prepare for this task and be ready by Wednesday. You need to:
- decide on the scene you want to use and watch it a few times
- decide which character you want to be
- create which tells you what you will write about and in what order
- Read the model answer carefully (provided in class) and annotate it for strengths and weaknesses
- Use the videos in the English section of www.youtube.com/cherwellonline to learn and improve your performance on the target areas from your first piece of writing.

Hello Year 12,

A quick reminder that you will be doing your Controlled Assessment periods 4 and 5 tomorrow. HOWEVER, if you are doing a November resit, it will make more sense for you to do a Paper 1 Practice, so expect to do this instead.
